Beaded Garden Stakes

A Fun Craft for All Ages!

Looking for a quick and colorful craft that both kids and adults will love? Beaded garden stakes are the perfect project! They’re easy to make, super customizable, and add a little sparkle to any garden, potted plant, or even a windowsill herb box.

This craft was a big hit during our Independence Day weekend with friends. I used an all-inclusive kit and bought extra red beads, white beads, blue beads and crystal toppers.  You can customize your bead selection to fit any holiday or birthday party theme!

Tip: Get extra crystal toppers! Many kids chose to fill their rod with beads and secure the end with another crystal topper to make a beaded baton/wand.

What You’ll Need:

  • 8/32 inch M4 threaded metal rods with hex nuts (Click here for just the rods/hex nuts)

  • Assorted beads (large-hole beads work best, like these)

  • Crystal toppers (Crystal Glass Cabinet Knobs 30mm)

  • Optional: Bead storage containers - each container holds 100 beads, perfect if you buy individual colors. Plus, they have a secure screw lid!

Work trays to keeps beads from rolling away from little hands

How-To:

  1. Start by picking a crystal topper and thread it onto one end.
  2. Next, add beads onto your stake in any pattern you like.

  3. Leave a bit of room at the bottom (4 inches) and secure the beads with a hex nut OR fill it up and add another crystal topper for a wand.

  4. Stick it in your garden and enjoy the pop of color!

This is a great activity for kids (with adult supervision) and makes a cute handmade gift too. Plus, it’s a fun way to spend some outdoor time together while getting creative.

Happy crafting!
